Dual-Degree Programs
The Department of Physics and Astronomy currently offers two Dual-Degree programs with Auburn University and Clemson University. In the Dual-Degree program, the student earns both a Physics B.S. Degree from Appalachian and an Engineering B.S. Degree from one of the partner schools (see below). The curriculum takes 5 years to complete, 3 years at Appalachian and 2 years on the campus of the partner university (the Dual-Degree program is also commonly called the "3+2 program"). Click the links below for the student contracts - which indicate the courses taken at Appalachian that are counted towards those programs - for:
The checksheets for these programs are below:
At anytime during the dual-degree program, the student can opt to complete only the B.S. in Physics at Appalachian.
Partnerships with North Carolina State University and UNC-Charlotte are currently being developed.
